TROPICAL RAINFORESTS: Saving What Remains

The WWF Global 200
from Olson and Dinerstein 1998

Global 200 Eco-regions organized by terrestrial, freshwater, or marine realm, major habitat type, and biogeographic realm. The conservation status of terrestrial eco-regions is noted as follows: CE for critical or endangered, V for vulnerable, and RS for relatively stable or intact. We anticipate that there will be some minor modification of the Global 200 list in the future as new information becomes available and ongoing analyses are finalized.
