The International Tropical Timber Organization (ITTO)
The ITTO is a commodity organization which includes countries that produce and consume tropical timber. The organization
provides a forum to discuss and exchange information and develop policies on the world tropical timber economy.
ITTO member countries represent 95 percent of world trade in tropical timber and 75 percent of the world's tropical
forests (ITTO 1999).
ITTO members are Australia, Austria, Belgium, Luxembourg, Bolivia, Brazil, Cambodia, Cameroon, Canada, Central
African Republic, China, Colombia, Cote d'Ivoire, Democratic Republic of Congo Denmark, Ecuador, Egypt, European
Union as a group, Fiji, Finland, France, Gabon, Germany, Ghana, Greece, Guyana, Honduras, India, Indonesia, Italy,
Japan, Liberia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Nepal, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Panama, Papua New Guinea, Peru,
the Philippines, Congo, South Korea, Spain, Suriname, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand, Togo, the United Kingdom,
the United States and Venezuela.
